Girls Inc. is Gearing Up for a Great Fall 2009!

Girls Inc. of Meriden has some exciting happenings just in time for the fall season!  Our fall program registration began on Sept. 14th, and is ongoing until the programs are filled.  In addition to our traditional programs such as dance, gymnastics (recreational & team), cooking, and arts & crafts – we are excited to offer a great variety of new classes as well.  Some of these classes include: Intro to Music, Let’s Learn Italian, American Red Cross Babysitting Certification, Cake Decorating, Basic Acting, Saturday Storytime, Scrappin’ It, and Deco-Fabulous… just to name a few.  The class session began on Sept. 28th and will run through Dec. 19th.  Participants must have a current Girls Inc. membership.

Next we’d like to announce that Girls Inc. has become technology enhanced!  That’s right, we’ve gotten a whole new look online at our new website www.girlsincmeriden.org  Check it out for up to date program information, announcements, or for easy online registration.  We know you’ll love it…we do!

Did you hear the news?...Girls Inc. is on the move!  We’re expanding our services and offering transportation from the following Meriden schools: Lincoln Middle School, Washington Middle School, Thomas Hooker, and Israel Putnam, to Girls Inc. for an afternoon program that will include a daily snack, homework assistance, and a variety of fun from several Girls Inc. programs.  There is a weekly fee of $50 to participate and each child must also have a current membership.  The program will run from afterschool until 5:30pm each day. 

Lastly Girls Inc. is excited to announce that we will now be offering families an opportunity to spend time together and “play” in a low-cost, fun filled environment!  Friday Fun Nights will be offered each Friday night of the month and are dedicated to a specific age group.  There will be a fun-filled activity planned at the 130 Lincoln St. facility from 6:00-7:30pm.  Both members and non-members are welcome to attend for a nominal fee.  Pre-registration is encouraged.  The excitement is set to begin on Oct. 2nd for children ages 3-6 years old with a parent.
